From 2015 to 2018 we toured with our wave of Citywave® all over Switzerland. We brought the surf culture to Bern, Basel, Lausanne, Winterthur and Martigny. Since May 2018, however, we are now an integral part of the trendy and urban Gerold quarter in the middle of Zurich. Besides lots of surf action, the Urbansurf platform with its vacation feeling, chilly deck chairs, delicious food and exotic cocktails rounds off the perfect summer day in the heart of the Swiss Alps. With Urbansurf, the two founders are fulfilling a dream: to make surfing in Switzerland possible. True to our slogan "We produce feelings of happiness" we want to put a smile on the faces of all Urbansurf visitors.

Citywave®– the surfwave for everyone

Thanks to our 8.5m wide Citywave® it is nowhere else so easy and safe to learn to surf. Every surf camp wishes for such ideal and consistent conditions. The Citywave® technology allows us to adjust the water volume and wave height according to the surf level. For every surfer there is the perfect endless surf wave. The even wave conditions are ideal for practicing surf tricks like 360° turns, jumps or turns. Surf beginners can celebrate their first successes right from the start. Tiring paddling, the difficult take-off, irregular waves: all these difficulties are eliminated. The board ascent takes place comfortably and easily sitting from the edge of the pool. With Urbansurf, surfing in Switzerland is possible - very close and uncomplicated.

Sustainable and environmentally friendly

Usually surfers travel halfway around the world by car and plane just to find the perfect wave. We bring surfing to you in Switzerland, easily accessible by public transport or bicycle. Sustainable tourism and climate protection are very important to us, which is why we are part of the "Cause We Care" project of MyClimate since August 2018. When booking a surf slot you can make a contribution to the "Cause We Care" project. We double your contribution and collect the money in a sustainability fund. Part of the money will be used to support high-quality international climate protection projects via MyClimate. We will invest the remaining amount in sustainability measures on our platform.

From the very beginning, it has been a matter of course for us that we use only renewable energy or electricity from hydropower for our water pumps. In this way, we are already significantly reducing our greenhouse gas emissions. And we are probably the only surf spot in the world that can claim to have its own station. Since we are stationed so close to Hardbrücke station, everyone can reach us easily and comfortably by public transport, thus protecting the climate in the long term. We would like to protect the habitat "water", which is so important for us surfers, and the whole environment and therefore we are part of the project. You can read many more details here.
